I would not be surprised if this item is recalled. We nearly broke my one year old's foot on this trike. He is very big for a one year old, and his feet have a hard time resting on the feet rests. So, he ends up pushing his feet forward and getting them caught in the pedals. We've injured his foot to the point that it has had a large scrath and turned blue. He has done this a total of 4 times on this trike. We also have a 2 1/2 year old who is also very tall. He can barely fit on the trike, but loves it and wants to try to pedal. He has also gotten his foot caught between the pedal and wheel and left him badly injured. He has gotten injured twice, and we don't even use it with him often. This has all been in less than two months. I'm planning on contacting the company to complain. My kids love the toy. Want on it when they see it, and end up getting hurt badly on it. My husband and I have been very upset that we paid so much money for the item and it is so bad. And yes, by the way, the sun shade is pointless.
