OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable Order Now

I have an original Krytonite-4 U-lock with the ACE II cylindrical lock that could be opened with a simple ballpoint pen tube - although the lock is strong it was too easily compromised for any real usage.

In mitigation Krytonite reacted laudably back in 2004 when the vulnerability was discovered and replaced those locks, that ended Sept/2007. Unfortunately I was not aware of the replacement program, so missed out on it.

However when I contacted Kryptonite about my lock they said they would still replace it with an equivalent lock at the same charge as their regular key replacement program at $20 if I ship the lock back to them. This again deserves merit/recognition.

But the total cost for return shipping and the $20 meant I really could buy a new lock for that price.

Although I would buy Kryptonite again for their good reputation and policies - my research led me to OnGuard U-locks - ConsumerSearch seem to rate both Kryptonite and OnGuard well - they picked the OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 as one of the better selections and the price at Amazon at just over $25 so qualified for Free shipping - was very good value.

Having the cable means I can secure my front wheel to the U-lock, in turn locked onto a something immovable, rather than having to remove my front wheel to lock with the U-lock.

I was obviously concerned by the negative reviews about the key/lock binding - but my key/lock seems pretty positive and easy to use - so hopefully with good lube maintenance the lock will not give me problems.

My only complaint was that the lighted key came with a battery that was totally flat - but following Amazon's instructions about defective parts I phoned OnGuard - who said they would send me a new battery.

So far, the initial impressions are good - the U-lock seems sturdy and strong - certainly as good, if not better than, my original Krytonite-4 U-lock - and at a price that would have cost me to replace the Krytonite-4, I gain the 4ft cable to help secure my front wheel more conveniently than removal and locking with the U-lock.

Unfortunately it is hard to judge the strength and security of any bicycle U-lock with personal experience - unless one had a bike stolen while the lock was in use. Even that is a difficult call if the thieves used power-tools which probably can overcome most locks fairly quickly other then perhaps the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit (expensive and heavy).

I've been using this lock for over a year now, and it's worth every penny. I live on a college campus in Los Angeles, and park my bike outside at night. My last bike was stolen when a thief cut right through the $30 U-lock I had. After that experience, I bought the Fahgettaboutit to protect my new bike.

Sure enough, a few months in, someone attempted to steal my bike while I was at work. The thief failed miserably, managing only to cut through the vinyl sheath on the shackle and scratch the paint on the steel. I think that the thief may have even broken his bolt cutters, because he didn't snip the cable that secured my wheels. The jerk did take the time to unbolt and steal my fork, brakes, handlebars, stem, and shifters, but in saving my frame and wheels this lock paid for itself and then some.

After replacing the stolen components, I invested in a Pitlock set to protect my wheels, brakes, and fork. Most of the remaining hex bolts have been filled with solder to discourage theft. With these measures in place alongside my Kryptonite Fahgettaboutit, I have no worries about leaving my ride outside and no one has made a visible attempt to take it.

The lock is heavy, but I'm not a gram-counter, so it doesn't bug me. The main downside is that there is no frame mount for this lock.

It's worth noting that the shackle locks at both ends. In other words, to add insult to injury, a thief would probably have to cut through the shackle twice in order to get the bike out.

The Fahgettaboutit doesn't like to get wet- the mechanism will get stiff if left out in the rain. However, I was able to remedy the problem easily by applying some bearing grease in the pits. This lubricated the locking mechanism and prevented any more water from entering.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our toddler. Having owned Radio Flyers in the past, I'm partial to the brand. Our last one served our oldest children well, but has been left out in the elements and needed to be replaced. I hadn't really considered this "new fangled" version.

However, after a little looking it didn't take long to come to a decision.

Pluses:
- Even though it's made of plastic, it's a solid unit. I would expect to get many years of use out of it.
- Back rests. The "floor" of the unit folds up to become a back rest for the child(ren). The child's feet go into a recessed well, or s/he could put their feet up on the opposite seat (2-seats altogether).
- Seat belts. We can't have our precious cargo damaged! There is a 3-point harness: the belt that goes around the waist and another that goes between the legs (crotch). They're a little tricky to adjust, but seem very secure. I can't imagine having to adjust this to switch out multiple children. Luckily, I don't have to though.
- Cup holders... what else do I need to say? There are four altogether. These come in quite handy for water bottles on our longer walks.
- Handle is okay. It stays upwhen you need it to and it's more conmfortable than the metal ones.

Cons:
- Tires: I wish the tires were more of an all-terrain tire. They work well for indoor and other smooth surfaces, they don't do as well on the street or off road. My kids don't seem as bothered by it.
- Turning radius: it has a rather wide turning radius. It's a monir detail that I live with. BTW, the handle is not connected to the wheels... the front wheels turn relatively easily in the direction you pull the wagon.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our toddler. Having owned Radio Flyers in the past, I'm partial to the brand. Our last one served our oldest children well, but has been left out in the elements and needed to be replaced. I hadn't really considered this "new fangled" version.

However, after a little looking it didn't take long to come to a decision.

Pluses:
- Even though it's made of plastic, it's a solid unit. I would expect to get many years of use out of it.
- Back rests. The "floor" of the unit folds up to become a back rest for the child(ren). The child's feet go into a recessed well, or s/he could put their feet up on the opposite seat (2-seats altogether).
- Seat belts. We can't have our precious cargo damaged! There is a 3-point harness: the belt that goes around the waist and another that goes between the legs (crotch). They're a little tricky to adjust, but seem very secure. I can't imagine having to adjust this to switch out multiple children. Luckily, I don't have to though.
- Cup holders... what else do I need to say? There are four altogether. These come in quite handy for water bottles on our longer walks.
- Handle is okay. It stays upwhen you need it to and it's more conmfortable than the metal ones.

Cons:
- Tires: I wish the tires were more of an all-terrain tire. They work well for indoor and other smooth surfaces, they don't do as well on the street or off road. My kids don't seem as bothered by it.
- Turning radius: it has a rather wide turning radius. It's a monir detail that I live with. BTW, the handle is not connected to the wheels... the front wheels turn relatively easily in the direction you pull the wagon.

Overall, I LOVE this wagon and would highly recommend it. We've had hours of fun.

My 9 Year Old little girl loves this E200 Electric Scooter. I love it as well. When I go for a 3 mile run, she takes it along and rides it while I run. Radio Flyer Kid's Wheelbarrow Review

I compared this wheelbarrow to other brands for durability and price and this one is a winner. Radio Flyer always has quality, well-built toys and I return to that brand over and over. Our 3 year old loves to use his wheelbarrow next to Dad with his bigger one and gets very excited to do yardwork now. Just hope that lasts into his teen years! The wheelbarrow itself is sized to last him at least until he's 5 and by then his little brother will be able to use it too! Razor Pocket Rocket-Blue Top Quality

This is a vey good toy for the price. The controls work great. For all the people who are complaining about the size, ITS SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY! This is a pocket bike. Pocket bikes are made to be very small. If you want your ten-year-old to look like he is riding a real motorcycle, with the right proportions, then you're out of luck. Do not let any child under seven ride this, though it may look like it is perfect for their size, the are going to crash from lack of knowing how to control it.
