The helmet is pretty much as described, but the description lacks a piece of crucial information: youth = age 8+. At the time of my purchase, that information was missing. I didn't find out until I opened the box that I'd bought a helmet for my 5 yr old niece that she can't use for a few more years. It's huge. I know there are measurements, but those dimensions could mean anything. Even using a hat size would be more sensible. Otherwise, I am pleased with the quality and the ease of use. It meets the standards of the Children's Product Safety Commission so I trust its fitness. The design is cute. The skull's eyes are hearts.
