We bought this trike for our 1 year old. It took him a while to learn to pedal. He operated it Flinstone style. Since he turned two and the weather has improved he likes to ride the trike a lot. Especially since he has learned to pedal. For the most part the trike is fine. However, after only moderate use the front wheel split open and started to fall off (into two pieces). I glued it and duct taped it. After a while the duct tape started to come off so I duct taped it some more. We are considering the purchase of a new tire but with shipping it is about 1/2 the price of the bike.
If you are considering the trike I would definitely pay more for the one with the handle. Your back will thank you!
One other concern is that the trike tips over easily when making a fast turn. But, in my opinion, that is part of being a kid.
